Breece Hall’s future with the New York Jets is looking uncertain. The young running back is entering the final year of his deal in 2025, and the Jets could look to move on now instead of losing him for nothing in free agency next offseason.

Additionally, New York plans to utilize a running back by committee approach this season under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn and offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand, meaning Hall’s production may dip with Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis also in the backfield.

If the Jets decide to trade Hall, Pro Football Network’s Sterling Xie lists the Kansas City Chiefs as a top landing spot for the dynamic running back.

“The Chiefs do have Isiah Pacheco and re-signed Kareem Hunt, but the AFC champs could use an explosive threat like Hall to diversify their offense. Kansas City had the lowest explosive run rate (4.7%) from its running backs in 2024 and desperately needs to provide Patrick Mahomes more margin for error,” Xie wrote.

Hall would be an electric addition to Kansas City’s offense. The former Iowa State standout would flourish behind a solid Chiefs’ offense and showcase his explosive playstyle.

Though he was inefficient at times in 2024, Hall has also been an efficient runner and decent contributor in the receiving game. He has totaled over 1,300 scrimmage yards in each of the last two years, including 1,585 yards from scrimmage in 2023.

Kansas City must bolster its rushing attack to bounce back from a rough Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and compete for another championship in 2025. Though Hall was up and down last season, he is still one of the most promising and talented running backs in football and would take some pressure off superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs are set up with two third-round picks and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 draft. General manager Brett Veach should send one of those selections to New York and acquire Breece Hall to elevate Andy Reid’s offense.
