Chelsea vs Liverpool set for travel chaos as Blues issue London Underground warning

FANS set to travel to Chelsea’s games at Stamford Bridge this month have been warned that disruption is expected to make travelling via the underground difficult.

The tube is undergoing planned engineering works that are set to cause chaos for those relying on them to get to games on the 4th and 25th this month.

The District line will be closed on the dates of both games west of Embankment Station, as well as on the entirety of the Edgeware Road branch.

This will close Fulham Broadway Station as an option for match-goers making the journey for this weekend’s match against league-leaders Liverpool.

The Circle line is also closed from Edgeware Road eastwards to Tower Hill for the Liverpool game, causing disruption.

Those issues will persist for Sunderland’s visit to the ground on the 25th, when the line will be closed from Edgeware to Aldgate.

The later match will also have its travel issues compounded by a closure of the Mildmay line between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction.

This means fans who alight at West Brompton or Imperial Wharf will have to find another way to the ground.

The Piccadilly line from Earl’s Court Station is expected to remain running for both games.

However, the club have warned fans that excessive demand could push the entry time to the station up to the 60 minute mark.

The Blues instead encouraged fans to use Hammersmith or South Kensington stations where possible.
