EVERTON have made a loan bid for Chelsea winger Tyrique George.

The Chelsea academy graduate, 19, has been on the fringes this term after seeing a £22million move to Fulham collapse last summer.

Everton boss David Moyes needs reinforcements with Jack Grealish out for the rest of the season.

The wide-man, who is at the club on a season-long loan from Manchester City, received a heartbreaking blow when he suffered a foot injury that could rule him out for months.

Manager David Moyes confirmed the unfortunate news on Friday, with the Toffees now having just over a day before the transfer window slams shut on Monday.

He said: “We believe he probably needs surgery. That’s still not absolutely confirmed, but it probably rules him out for the rest of the season yes.

“It’s really disappointing for the player and for the club, for all of us here because he’s such an important part.”

George seems to be the number one choice as it stands, with Everton reportedly eyeing up a loan deal until the end of the season with a buy option.

The Cobham graduate was targeted earlier this window by Bournemouth as a replacement for the outgoing Antoine Semenyo.

George is believed to be growing frustrated by his lack of minutes at Stamford Bridge, and is open for a move that would allow him to better showcase his talents.

The 19-year-old star last featured in the Prem in a five-minute cameo off the bench in the Blues’ loss to Sunderland at the end of October.

He has been included in just one matchday squad since then, being an unused substitute against Brentford earlier this month.
