The Chargers play the Texans in the wild-card round Saturday, but they are doing so with bigger things in mind.
The city of Los Angeles has been has been devastated by wildfires all week, which caused multiple sporting events to be postponed. The NFL even moved the Rams’ home playoff game on Monday night against the Vikings from Los Angeles to Arizona.
While the Chargers were always set to play their game in Houston, they still wanted to do something to show their appreciation for the first responders battling the wildfires back home. Here is what the team did before the game to honor Los Angeles firefighters.

Chargers LAFD hats, explained
During warmups of their wild-card game against the Texans, Chargers players and coaches wore “LAFD” hats to show support for the Los Angeles Fire Department as it battles wildfires back home.

Throughout the week, the Chargers were not able to hold full practices outside amid the poor air quality from the wildfires. Additionally, members of the organization want to get back to there families with a win in hand.
Before the game, the Texans held a moment of silence for those impacted by the wildfires before proceeding with pregame festivities.
