Harper made it personal during fight week and leaned into it.
“I don’t like rude people. I don’t like bullies. That’s the vibe she gives me. She just rubs me up the wrong way.”
She is using that edge to bring something sharper into the fight.
“She gives me that fire in my belly that I need. I actually want to go out there and do the work on her.”
Then she flipped the pressure.
“For me there’s no pressure, Caroline’s the one who’s been running her mouth.”
Harper’s angle is clear. Drag Dubois into the later rounds and test her pace. She has been through injuries, cuts, and long fights. That experience shows in how she manages rounds and when she chooses to step in.
“I feel like as a fighter I’ve experienced probably everything you can experience… I’ve got a lot of experience and I know I’m going to be able to use that to my advantage on the night.”
She pointed to a pattern.
“She will tire, 100 percent. The pattern’s set, you can see it.”
Harper will look to keep her shape early, work behind her lead hand, and build the fight into the second half. Straight shots, body work, and patience.
Dubois brings the opposite. She sets a faster pace, lets combinations go, and pushes exchanges. She is younger, sharper with her hands, and more aggressive when she steps in.
The key is control of the distance. If Dubois sets the pace early and keeps her workrate high, she can take rounds before Harper settles. If Harper keeps her composure, works the body, and forces a slower fight, she can turn it late.
This is where experience meets pace. One fighter builds rounds. The other looks to take them early.
