The Arizona Cardinals badly want to get back into Super Bowl contention. In order to reach that goal, the Cardinals are going to have to make some big moves or will have to draft perfectly for at least a couple more years.
Should they choose to go with an attempt to make a big move, one potential target should be Dallas Cowboys superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons.
Parsons may or may not be available. Jerry Jones and the Cowboys still have yet to work out a long-term extension for Parsons and there have been rumblings of potential locker room issues in Dallas. It would be shocking to see them move on from Parsons, but it’s not impossible.
If he is made available at any point in time, Arizona could make sense as a potential trade suitor.
Justin Melo of The Draft Network recently named the Cardinals as one of the top potential trade suitors for Parsons if the Cowboys were to open up to the idea of moivng him.
“No Cardinals pass rusher recorded more than five sacks in 2024. They’re going to revamp the edge-rushing group drastically. The team’s free agents include LJ Collier, Baron Browning, Dennis Gardeck, Jesse Luketa, and Julian Okwara. Ossenfort probably won’t have interest in bringing any of them back. Defensive head coach Jonathan Gannon is desperate for solutions. If the Cowboys consider trading Parsons to an NFC team, they likely don’t view the Cardinals as enough of a threat to eliminate the possibility.”

Adding Parsons to the roster might be the move Arizona needs to make to get back on the map. The Cardinals would instantly take a huge jump as potential contenders.
During the 2024 NFL season with Dallas, Parsons racked up 43 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a defended pass in 13 games. At 25 years old, he’s early in the prime of his career and has a lot of top-tier football ahead of him.
Is it likely that Dallas would move Parsons? Absolutely not, but Arizona should keep its eyes on the situation. Should the situation blow up with the Cowboys, Parsons could be made available.
This is a complete dream scenario for the Cardinals. No one should expect to see this happen, but Arizona would be a trade suitor to watch if it happened.
