Eddie Hearn reiterated that Shakur Stevenson’s three-fight plan in 2025 is to run the gauntlet against Floyd Schofield, William Zepeda, and Gervonta Davis.

Tank’s Demands
Hearn described Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) as a “Wonderful fighter” and is open to placing the Gervonta Davis fight where “the best opportunity” is for the clash. It will take a lot of money to get Tank Davis to agree to fight Stevenson because he won’t want to face the track star unless he’s paid $100 million, as he stated.
That could mean the fight will be on Amazon Prime PPV. However, it’s way too early to begin talking about a Tank-Shakur fight because Shakur may come undone against the young lion Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) on February 22nd in their fight on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol 2 in Riyadh.
If Stevenson wins that fight, he still must beat #1 ranked lightweight contender William Zepeda (32-0, 27 KOs), and that will not be easy. With Zepeda’s high volume, body punching, and ability to cut off the ring against runners, he will get to Stevenson, no matter how much movement he uses.
Shakur doesn’t possess the power or work rate to match Zepeda. If the Newark, New Jersey native Stevenson runs all night like he did against Edwin De Los Santos, Jeremiah Nakathilia, and Joet Gonzales, his stock will drop lower than ever.
Even if Shakur is victorious against Zepeda, it would be seen as a defeat by fans because he would be booed, and the boxing world would see the fight on DAZN. I foresee 2025 ending badly for Stevenson, with his runner reputation ruining Hearn’s best-laid plans, making him a laughing stock and the equivalent of a leper.
Hearn’s Plan
“The plan for Shakur Stevenson is Schofield, Zepeda, Gervonta. That’s 2025, and that fight is going to be one of the biggest fights in the world because Gervonta Davis is an amazing fighter, and so is Shakur. He is just a wonderful fighter. Let’s get there first. And where it is, is wherever the best opportunity for the fight lies. That’s how it should work,” said Eddie Hearn @Sean_Zittel.
