October is when MLB legends are made and Thursday night a Yankee came through with a legendary performance to close out the Wild Card round. The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox to move on to the ALDS behind a historic performance from Cam Schlittler. He became the first pitcher in MLB postseason history to throw eight scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts and no walks.

Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman discuss this historic performance and look ahead to the Yankees ALDS matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays. They also discuss the Red Sox’s collapse and where the franchise goes from here. Plus, the guys dive into the other AL Wild Card series which saw the Detroit Tigers defeat the Cleveland Guardians. They preview Detroit’s upcoming series with the Seattle Mariners and discuss what Detroit has to do to stand a chance of moving on.

Later, Jake and Jordan take a look at both NL Wild Card series. They discuss the Los Angeles Dodgers’ sweep of the Cincinnati Reds and preview the powerhouse matchup between the Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies. Game 1 of this series will also showcase Shohei Ohtani starting at pitcher and leading off for LA. Then they dive into the final Wild Card series that saw the Chicago Cubs take down the San Diego Padres. They discuss where the season fell apart for the Padres and what they think of the upcoming matchup between the Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Finally, the guys go around the league and discuss news coming from the clubs who are not in the postseason. The Washington Nationals and the St. Louis Cardinals announce new presidents of operations and a handful of teams decide it is time for a new manager. Jake and Jordan take some extra time to discuss all of this with no The Good, The Bad & The Uggla today.
