Cadillac and Jota have taken the wraps off the livery in which the two factory V-Series.R LMDhs will race in the World Endurance Championship this season.

The Cadillac Hertz Team Jota entries will hit the track in the same ‘Hertz Racing Gold’ colours as the British team’s customer Porsche 963s of 2023-24.

The livery was launched in Paris on Tuesday at Cadillac’s flagship electric vehicle dealership in Europe adjacent to the Opera Garnier.

The stage for the unveiling reflected “Cadillac’s unwavering commitment to innovation and performance on the global stage”, according to General Motors Europe managing director and president Pere Brugal.

“As we expand our footprint in Europe, this partnership represents a powerful opportunity to showcase Cadillac’s pioneering spirit in one of the most prestigious racing championships in the world,” he said.

Cadillac and Jota did not use the occasion of the Paris livery launch to reveal the driver combinations for the #12 and #38 Hypercar class entries.

They will be announced at a later date, which should come before the end of the month. 3

Cadillac revealed in mid-November that Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn would move over from the Chip Ganassi Racing squad that ran the solo Cadillac LMDh in the WEC in 2023-24, while Sebastien Bourdais would swap across from the  North American programme in the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Jenson Button, Will Stevens and Norman Nato, who previously raced its privateer Porsches, are remaining with Jota for its ascent to factory status with Cadillac.

Jota has so far tested twice with the V-Series.R.

It undertook a shakedown with the first of its chassis at the Anneau du Rhin circuit in the Alsace region of France late in November before moving to Paul Ricard for two days testing with a development car in December.

All six Jota Cadillac drivers were present at the Ricard test.

Jota will test in Abu Dhabi at the end of this month prior to the start of the WEC season, which begins with the official Prologue test the weekend prior to the season-opener on 28 February at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar.

“We’re learning a lot, but there’s still more to learn,” said Jota team founder Sam Hignett.

“We ran into the night at Ricard and racked up around a couple of thousand kilometres.”
