Bukayo Saka reveals Thierry Henry’s cheeky message just hours before Arsenal’s win over West Ham

BUKAYO SAKA has revealed the cheeky message he received from Thierry Henry ahead of Arsenal’s win over West Ham.

The Gunners picked up a routine 2-0 win at the Emirates.

Declan Rice opened the scoring before Saka found the net with a penalty after half-time.

In doing so Saka became just the second Arsenal player to mark his 200th appearance for the club with a goal.

The other was Henry, who text the winger ahead of kick-off.

After Saka was informed of the stat, he said: “Of course it was – he has every record this guy.

“It is really nice for me. Thierry always messages me – he messaged me this morning as well to remind me we lost the last two games against West Ham at home.

“He is always pushing me and I think he wants me there with him.

“It is nice to have that encouragement from him and of course me, I want it as well, I’m really happy to have my name on these records.

“I’m just going to keep pushing and try and get some team trophies, which is what we have been searching for.”

As well as getting on the scoresheet, Saka’s shot was tapped in on the rebound by Rice.

But the shine was taken off Arsenal’s win by the injury to Martin Odegaard, who left the Emirates in a knee brace.

Rice was also taken off with a precaution after suffering a back problem.
