The Denver Broncos want to give Bo Nix as much help as they can in 2025 in order to get to the next level as a team. While most would feel that means getting as many top-tier pass catchers in the building as possible, the best move might be to add a running back who can help take the pressure off of him.
The Broncos don’t currently have that player on the roster. Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime are promising young options but the team needs a steady hand to carry the load. Javonte Williams will likely be looking for a new team to sign with in free agency and the Broncos could bring in one of the top free agents on the market.
Najee Harris has been connected to the Broncos in many predictions and that is how Marissa Myers of TWSN sees it as well.
“Harris has put up four seasons of consistency, with each season being over 1,000 yards. Harris has totaled 4,316 yards and 28 touchdowns over 1,097 attempts, proving he can provide a steady presence for an offense. Not only that, but Harris has also been able to be reliable as a receiver as well, with 1,149 yards and six touchdowns. Harris is a downhill rusher that is physical, his style as a running back is why Harris is a perfect fit for the Denver Broncos”, wrote Myers.

Harris has been a consistent runner in the tough, downhill style that the Pittsburgh Steelers like to employ. But would he be that same player in Sean Payton’s offense? It would be an interesting signing and one that others see happening as well.
In fact, Scott Engel of NJ.com notes that if he were betting with real money, he could see Harris choosing to sign with the Broncos. It seems all but certain that the days in Denver are over for Williams and that the team needs to find a clear-cut starter in free agency or the draft. Harris, while not necessarily flashy, has been consistently good and will be just 27 years old when the 2025 season kicks off.
