Just as importantly for Wolves, was keeping their first clean sheet in 23 games, thanks to a stellar performance from veteran defender Craig Dawson.
However Saints must find a proven goalscorer fast or they are surely heading back to the Championship.

Fulham move up to sixth – just behind Arsenal and Chelsea on goal difference – after their win today.
Brentford are into the top half after coming from behind twice to beat Bournemouth, who blew the chance to join Fulham up in the top six.
Wolves move up to 18th with their win, putting Saints bottom of the table. Wolves now just a point behind Crystal Palace who are toiling.
