Brian Norman Sr. Warns Devin Haney: “My Son’s Power Will Make Him Uncomfortable and Expose His Doubt on November 22”

Brian Norman Sr. Warns Devin Haney: “My Son’s Power Will Make Him Uncomfortable and Expose His Doubt on November 22”

Brian Norman Sr. predicts that his son, WBO welterweight champion Norman’s power, will make Devin Haney “uncomfortable,” causing his preexisting self-doubt to flare up on November 22nd.

Norman Sr. was amused at hearing what Haney’s sparring partner, Troy Isley, said about how Devin would create distance between them, use his superior technical skills to neutralize Norman’s ” physicality.”

No Running in Riyadh

Brian Sr. points out that Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) has the longer reach than Haney (32-0, 16 KOs), and is excellent at cutting off the ring on his opponents if they try to run.

Haney vs. Norman Jr. are fighting on the undercard of David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde on November 22nd at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will be broadcast on DAZN PPV for $59.99 for U.S fans.

“He definitely don’t have the power of Brian Norman. We know that,” said Brian Norman Sr. to MillCity Boxing about Devin Haney not having the power that Norman Jr. possesses. “They were saying they were worried about the physicality. Neither one of them have the power of Brian Norman. That to me is the biggest factor,” said Brian Sr. about Haney and his sparring partner, Troy Isley, not having the power of Norman Jr.

Devin isn’t in the same league as Norman Jr., power-wise. Even if Norman’s last opponent, Jin Sasaki, is a bigger puncher than Haney. He’s not anywhere near him in that department. He only has one hope of besting Brian Jr., and that’s by hitting and moving all night long on November 22nd.

The Father’s Warning

“You get uncomfortable. That’s what power does. Every fighter goes through an inkling of doubt before the fight,” said Norman Jr. “When you got doubt and you go in there and deal with a person that clocks you upside your head. You know what’s at stake. That’s going to be hard to deal with. Ya’ll going to see on November 22nd.”

If Devin doesn’t get “uncomfortable,” he could end up getting knocked cold or repeatedly dropped by one of Norman’s big shots. Haney looked like a human yo-yo with how Ryan Garcia kept knocking him down in their fight on April 20, 2024. Garcia dropped Devin six times, but the referee only counted three of them.

If Ryan possessed the two-fisted power of Norman Jr., Haney wouldn’t have made it out of round seven. That was the one where he was knocked down repeatedly by Kingry.

He doesn’t have the chin to stand and trade with the 24-year-old Norman Jr. We’ve seen that again and again in Devin’s fights. That’s why he holds and moves so much. The punch resistance isn’t there.

31 days.. victory InshaAllah 🤲🏽
