Brazilian GP replaces Argentina as MotoGP 2026 calendar revealed

MotoGP has released a 22-round calendar for its 2026 campaign with the Brazilian Grand Prix replacing Argentina in early March.

Buriram will continue as the season opener until 2027, with next year’s Thai Grand Prix taking place on 27 February-1 March.

The major change for the 2026 season takes the second slot of the campaign, where Argentina disappears and the Brazilian GP returns to the championship after a 22-year absence. The event will be held on 20-22 March at the Ayrton Senna Autodrome in Goiania.

Following Brazil, the opening leg of the first double-header of the season, will be the Americas GP in Austin on 27-29 March, before heading to the Middle East for the Qatar GP on 10-12 April.

The Hungarian GP remains on the calendar for a second year at Balaton Park but moves forward to a 5-7 June slot, as the UK round is pushed back to August after an unsuccessful late May spot on this year’s campaign.

The Aragon GP remains on the MotoGP calendar despite doubts over its future and acts as a standalone event on 28-30 August.

A final European double-header rounds out the summer action, with the Misano and Austrian races, which sees the Red Bull Ring event moved from its usual August date to 18-20 September.

After that, MotoGP heads to Asia again, starting with the Japanese GP, recently renewed until 2030, and Indonesia, forming a double-header, before another pairing of races in Australia and Malaysia.

MotoGP returns to Europe to round out the season with the final two events, like this year, being Portimao and Valencia, which will once again host the final race of the season on 20-22 November.

In addition, the first 2027 pre-season test with the new regulation bikes will take place the following Tuesday 24 November in Valencia.
