Bruce Carrington (15-0, 9 KOs) called out featherweight champions Nick Ball and Stephen Fulton following his third round knockout win over Enrique Vivas (23-4, 12 KOs) last Saturday night Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Las Vegas.
WBA champion Ball and WBC champ Fulton are unlikely to agree to fight Carrington because he’s too risky for his own good. Financially, it doesn’t make sense for either to face him.
Rafael Espinoza’s Risk
The champion that likely would fight Fulton, WBO belt-holder Rafael Espinoza, is someone the Brooklyn, New York native ‘Shu Shu’ doesn’t consider an “attractive” fight. That could be interpreted as code for, ‘Espinoza is too dangerous.’
Top Rank promoters Espinoza and Carrington. They’d make that fight if Bruce were willing to face the 6’1″ Espinoza. However, by the sounds of it, Carrington doesn’t seem at all interested in fighting him.

With the way Carrington struggled to defeat Sulaiman Segawa on September 27th last year, winning a 10-round majority decision, Espinoza would be a nightmare for him. If the 27-year-old Carrington isn’t ready for him now, he never will.
The Call-Outs
“Nick Ball, yeah, I want that. WBC Stephen Fulton, I want that. Let’s get this work in, bro,” said Bruce Carrington to the ESPN following his second round win over Enrique Vivas last Saturday night in Las Vegas. “I want to fight all y’all. I’m top five in all of the sanctioning bodies right now. Stop running. Stop playing. Let’s get this work.
“You know I chop that tree down, too. You know I’ve been saying his name since last yer. Stop playing,” said Carrington about WBO featherweight champion Rafael Espinoza. “You have to ask him if he wants to fight. I’ve been down to fight anybody. Let’s get this work. I’m not ducking nobody. Y’all call yourselves champions. Come fight the best. Come see me.”
It’s not going to work for Carrington to call out Fulton because those guys have better options, and they can make a lot more money waiting on Naoya Inpue when he moves up to 126. Why would they want to fight a 27-year-old prospect when they can get a huge payday against Inoue?
“I feel like now, I’m putting pressure on them to fight me,” said Carrington to Fighthype about the three champions at 126. “I’ve been ready. Like I said. I’ve been calling him out [WBO featherweight champion Rafael Espinoza] since last year. I’ve been calling all the champions out. The same pressure that I’ve been applying to all.
“Now, I want to fight Nick Ball and Fulton because they’re more attractive to me. But if one person doesn’t want to fight me, I’ll go call out the other guy,” said Carrington.
