Unbeaten IBF World Welterweight champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis wants to stay at welterweight to unify the titles. The only problem is that the three other organizations’ champions are unwilling to unify by fighting him.

Coming off a not-impressive win, though without a doubt the winner, you would think one of the champs would be willing now. Ennis’ promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing, is possibly the busiest promoter in the world. It has been rumored offered super welterweight Vergil Ortiz, Jr., 22-0, 21 stoppages a fight. “We were never offered this, said Bozy Ennis. Ortiz is scheduled for February 22nd to meet Israil Madrimov, 10-1-1, with 7 stoppages of Uzbekistan and California, who is coming from a close loss to Terence Crawford.

Welterweight possible opponents WBA champ Eimantas Stansonis, 15-0 with 9 stoppages, of Lithuania. “He is the best among the champs and would like that fight,” said Bozy Ennis. Also, WBC champ Brian ‘The Assassin ll’ Norman, Jr., 26-0 with 20 stoppages of Georgia, and WBC Interim champ Mario ‘El Azteca’ Barrios, 29-2-1 with 13 stoppages of Texas.

The No. 3 IBF welter (No. 1 and 2 vacant) Jin Sasaki, 18-1-1 with 17 stoppages of Japan, is scheduled January 24th defend his WBO Asia Pacific and Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation titles against Shoki ‘ELPV’ Sakai, 29-14-3 with 15 stoppages of Japan.

If Ennis moves up in weight, he could face super welter WBO champ Sebastian ‘The Towering Inferno’ Fundora, 21-1-1 with 13 stoppages of California. “He is an inside fighter, though his height is 6’05, and that is why he got beat, said Bozy Ennis.”

Adding, “his sister can really fight.” IBF champ Bakhram Murtazaliev, 23-0 with 17 stoppages of Russia and California, and former 2-division WBA Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford, 41-0 with 31 stoppages of Nebraska. None have a fight scheduled. At age 37, Crawford is looking for one big payday before retiring, and Alvarez can make that happen.
