The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver duo of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins have arguably been the most dynamic tandem in the NFL over the last few seasons. Chase has established himself as one of the better receivers and is coming off a career year where he led the league in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708), and receiving touchdowns (17).

Higgins has also been a significant contributor for Cincinnati and posted a career-high ten touchdowns in 2024.

Both Chase and Higgins are eligible for contract extensions this offseason, as Chase has just one year left on his deal, and Higgins was franchise-tagged for the second consecutive offseason.

Contract talks between the Bengals and their star wide receivers have been complicated, but according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Cincinnati is making progress on extensions with Chase and Higgins.

“The Bengals have been very motivated to extend their superstar receivers,” Russini tweeted on Friday. “Significant progress has been made with both Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase, the latter of whom received his first offer from the team during the combine. Expect the duo to receive over $70 million per year combined.”

Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston also tweeted the expected value of the Bengals’ wide receiver’s new deals. Wilson said that Chase is expected to land a contract worth $40 million per year, while Higgins’ deal is projected to be in the $28 million per year range.

“Talks advancing and huge paydays expected for Bengals wide receiver tandem of Ja’Marr Chase ($40 million average per year expected) and Tee Higgins ($28 million average per year range), per league sources,” Wilson tweeted.

It sounds like Cincinnati is on the verge of locking up their explosive wide receiver duo for the long term, which is great news for quarterback Joe Burrow.
