With the No. 10 pick and other assets in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears could get creative if a player they love is available within the first five picks.
While many expect quarterbacks to be drafted to at least two teams within the first five picks, there are a few generational prospects in the mix to be selected in the top five.
Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter are arguably the two best draft prospects in this class.
However, with the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, and Cleveland Browns needing a quarterback, there’s a chance one of them could be available for the Bears to trade up for.
Chicago would need the New England Patriots to want to make a trade, but there’s a possibility they could be interested in moving down to No. 10.
In a proposed trade from Bryan Perez of Sports Illustrated, Chicago would do just that.
He proposed a deal to send No. 10 and two second-round picks to the Patriots for Chicago to daft Carter.
“There are a few teams picking ahead of the Bears that are much further away from competing in 2025 and who could use extra draft capital to build their roster. The New England Patriots immediately come to mind.
“The Patriots currently hold the fourth pick, and if Penn State star pass rusher Abdul Carter slides to that pick — which could happen if both the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants select a quarterback — Poles and the Bears should give New England a call and see what it would take to move up,” Perez wrote.
Many consider Carter to be the best player in the draft class. Some view him as a generational edge rusher, something any team in the NFL would love to have.
The price would be high, but he’s well worth it.
