Bears-Raiders blockbuster trade proposal sends new RB to Las Vegas

The Chicago Bears have made big changes to their team this offseason. However, they could make another big move involving D’Andre Swift.

The Bears hired Ben Johnson to help reshape their offense in Caleb Williams’ second year as the quarterback. The Bears also traded for Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney and signed Drew Dalman. Their new offensive line could be a game-changer, but they may be interested in an upgrade from Swift.

Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton proposed this trade that sends Swift to the Las Vegas Raiders to put them in a position to draft Ashton Jeanty:

  • Bears receive: sixth overall pick
  • Raiders receive: 10th overall pick, 72nd overall pick and D’Andre Swift

“One year after the Detroit Lions promoted Ben Johnson to offensive coordinator, they traded D’Andre Swift and a 2023 seventh-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2023 seventh-round pick and a 2025 fourth-round pick. In Philadelphia, Swift had his most productive rushing season, racking up 1,049 yards on the ground,” wrote Moton. “Last season, with the Chicago Bears, he accumulated a career-high 1,345 scrimmage yards. But Johnson, who’s now the Bears’ head coach, may want a different type of running back leading his backfield.”

Jeanty ran for over 2,000 yards last season and finished as the Heisman Trophy runner-up. He could be a workhorse for Johnson’s offense.

The Raiders are reportedly interested in Jeanty, so it will take a lot to move up four spots and deprive them of him. Swift would give them a running back to fill their need, convincing them to forget about Jeanty.
