Arsenal vs Athletic Bilbao LIVE SCORE: Pre-season friendly on NOW as Saka adds to Gyokeres’ first Gunners goal – updates

Arsenal 2-0 Athletic Bilbao

37. Arsenal cut Athletic Bilbao open in the blink of an eye, and have two goals in as many minutes!

No need for fancy wing play as the hosts go straight through the middle.

Brilliant hold-up play from Viktor Gyokores allows Martin Odegaard to clip a pass over the top, and from there Gabriel Martinelli nudges the ball beyond a stranded Unai Simon and Bukayo Saka steers into the empty net.

Simple.

35. Viktor Gyokores has his Arsenal goal, and it is classic centre-forward play.

Athletic Bilbao thought they had done the hard work by clearing Declan Rice’s corner, but the Gunners kept the ball alive on the right side.

Martin Zubimendi took over, and curled over a terrific cross from out wide for Gyokores.

Peeling off his marker, the striker rose and twisted in one action to divert his header beyond Unai Simon.

The first of many? The Arsenal faithful believe so.

33. Inigo Lekue almost bags the greatest own goal you would have ever seen.

In attempting to cut out Martin Odegaard’s through ball, the defender slices wildly from 25 yards out with a clearance that loops and spins and turns towards Unai Simon’s goal.

With the goalkeeper beaten, the Emirates watches in slow motion…

…until the ball drops wide of the post and behind for a corner.
