EXCLUSIVE: Eze staying put
Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze could both end up STAYING at Crystal Palace this season.
Palace have not received any firm offers for either player and are in no rush to sell.
Attacking midfielder Eze has been in line for a move to Arsenal and is keen on a switch from south to north London.
But the Gunners are not prepared to trigger his £68m release clause.
Palace look set to hold out for that fee and Arsenal could turn their attention to others.
Patino on departure
Charlie Patino was tipped to become an Arsenal star when he netted for the first-team aged 18 in a League Cup clash.
But after loans with Blackpool and Swansea, the 21-year-old midfielder now plays Deportivo La Coruna.
On never nailing down his spot in North London, Patino told The Athletic: “It’s all about timing. There were a lot of other players in my position at the time and it was a time when Mikel Arteta wanted to push for the league and stuff like that.
“Things happen for a reason and we move on.”
Ex-wonderkid on Dowman
Former Arsenal wonderkid Charlie Patino has urged the club to be patient with 15-year-old star Max Dowman.
Patino, who now plays in the Spanish second tier with Deportivo La Coruna, said: “To be breaking in at 15 is a massive thing.
“It’s very rare for people that age to be doing that.
“I’d say from my experiences to not put too much pressure on a kid that age and just let him learn from training.
“Put him in when needed and give them time to adapt, to get that experience, to see what it’s like.”
Lookman goes AWOL
Ademola Lookman has gone AWOL and did not turn up to Atalanta training today.
Lookman, 27, was the subject of a £39m bid from Inter Milan last week that was rejected.
The former Everton man put out a lengthy statement accusing Atalanta of “broken promises” and “poor treatment”, claiming he had an agreement with them to leave.
But club chief Luca Percassi responded to say that the agreement involved Lookman of not joining another Serie A club.
His relationship with the club is at an “all-time low”.
There is no new offer from Inter, while PSG and Arsenal have previously been linked.
The Gunners view him as possible alternative to Eberechi Eze.
Ex-Gunner to Ipswich
Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom was heading to Birmingham City.
But Ipswich have hijacked the deal and he has now agreed personal terms with the Tractor Boys.
Personal terms have been agreed and he is heading for a medical.
Akpom arrives on loan with an obligation to buy for £7m should Ipswich get promoted back to the Premier League.
The 29-year-old is currently with Ajax and spent the second half of last season with Lille.
Mad for it
Arsenal new boy Noni Madueke is keen to hit the ground running following his move from Chelsea.
The England winger is yet to feature for the Gunners after being given extra time off due to appearing in the Club World Cup.
But Madueke has not had his feet up during his break, reportedly cutting short his holiday by a week to work with an individual coach.
