MLS’ new contract
Arsenal are ready to give academy graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly a huge new contract.
Lewis-Skelly’s current deal runs out in 2026 after signing his first ever professional contract at the age of 17 that couldn’t be longer than three years.
But now the Athletic report the full-back is set to become one of the highest-paid young stars on the planet.
This comes after an impressive breakout season in the Premier League and Champions League for the 18-year-old.
Sesko asking price
RB Leipzig have named their price for Arsenal transfer target Benjamin Sesko.
According to Sky Germany, Leipzig are asking between £65-£85million for Sesko.
The same source claims the Gunners don’t want to pay the Bundesliga side’s asking price.
The same reason has led the North Londoners to freezing their interest in Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres.
Gyokeres rejects meeting
Viktor Gyokeres turned down a meeting with Sporting Lisbon amid his ongoing transfer saga.
Gyokeres is being targeted by both Arsenal and Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
The striker is reportedly seething with Sporting as he feels they reneged on a gentlemen’s agreement that would have seen him leave this summer for a cut price.
However, the Portuguese champions insist on their initial valuation of £85million.
That has seen the Sweden international reportedly considering a strike while his agent lock horns with the club’s hierarchy.
And now Record report the 27-year-old rejected an olive branch from Sporting, who asked for a meeting with the player and his camp to clear the air.
Carlos Cuesta breaks silence
Carlos Cuesta has sent Arsenal and Mikel Arteta an emotional message with the coach set to take the manager’s role at Parma.
Cuesta said: “After five beautiful years it’s hard to put this into words, but I can only express how grateful I am for having lived my day-to-day with such special people and feel what it means to represent this football club, with its incredible history and value
“The only thing I’ve ever tried to do was give everything I had inside of me every single day.
“I was inspired by the culture that was created, by the hunger of every person of the organisation and by the unity that we had in any situation that we had to face.
“It has been a privilege to have had the chance to work with the players, staff, directors and all the employees of the club and at the same time, to receive an extra push from our amazing fans in every match.
“Because of the quality of its people, I’m convinced that the best moments for this football club are still yet to come. Enjoy the journey, because it is a very exciting one. Thank you Arsenal.”
Feeling Blue
Dortmund starlet Jamie Gittens has reportedly opted for a move to Chelsea over Arsenal.
The Blues have made Gittens, valued at £40m, their top target this summer.
Reports suggest the Gunners were considering a swoop for the former Man City youth star, who hit 8 goals in 32 Bundesliga games last season.
But Chelsea look ready to pen a seven-year deal with Gittens.
