Martin Odegaard stats
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has been a shadow of his former brilliant self this term.
A combination of illness, injury and becoming a father for the first time in December has seen him struggle for consistency and momentum, with large sections of the Gunners’ fanbase questioning his ability as captain with another Prem title charge falling short.
But perhaps more worryingly, it has been his creativity and intent on the ball in front of goal that has been missing.
One area that has slumped in particular has been Odegaard’s shooting and scoring from outside the box, something that became a real trademark for the Norwegian in previous seasons.
But his last two games can give fans hope he is on his way back as SunSport reveals the stats behind his dramatic drop in long-range belters, and why they are so important to his overall game.
Martin Zubimendi deal
Arsenal have “agreed a deal” to sign Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have finally agreed to meet Zubimendi’s release clause worth a whopping £50million.
Mikel Arteta’s side will now have to take “formal steps” to meet the midfielder’s expensive asking price.
The Spain international has also reached a verbal agreement with the North Londoners.
Zubimendi is now set to sign a “long-term” deal and become Arsenal’s first signing of the summer.
Andrey Santos details
Arsenal are planning a shock move for Chelsea wonderkid Andrey Santos, who is currently on loan at the Premier League giants’ sister club Strasbourg.
According to Le 10 Sport, Santos has caught the eye of the Gunners ahead of the summer transfer window.
The North Londoners are said to be “hard at work” to get a deal over the line for the midfielder.
But Paris Saint-Germain, who tried to sign the Brazil international when the Blues did in 2023 from Vaso da Gama, remain strong contenders.
