Arsenal handed injury boost ahead of Liverpool
Arsenal have been handed a major injury boost ahead of their huge clash with Liverpool this weekend, with captain Martin Odegaard expected to be fit.
The midfielder was forced off with a shoulder injury during last weekend’s 5-0 thrashing of Leeds, but football.london reports the damage isn’t as bad as first feared. Odegaard is now tipped to be ready to face the Reds.
However, Arsenal won’t have it all their own way, with Bukayo Saka set to miss up to four weeks after picking up an injury against Leeds.
Eze close in Arsenal debut
Eberechi Eze is likely to make his debut for Arsenal this weekend when they take on Liverpool in the Premier League.
The player, signed from Crystal Palace, just missed the Leeds United game but is now expected to be ready for the clash with Liverpool this weekend.
Arsenal agree deal with Porto for Kiwior
ARSENAL have agreed a loan with an obligation to buy of around £22.5m with Porto for defender Jakub Kiwior.
However, the Pole is waiting for the green light to travel to Portugal to complete the move as the Gunners look to activate the £52m release clause of Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie.
Kiwior has been deemed surplus to requirements by boss Mikel Arteta this summer, who needs to trim down his squad after spending over £250m on seven new signings.
It is expected that Kiwior will be absent from the squad travelling to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday.
Having also brought in 21-year-old Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia, Arteta wants versatile Ecuador defender Hincapie, 23, to make up his central defensive options alongside William Saliba and Gabriel.
Kiwior’s departure would facilitate this, but it is hanging in the balance with Arsenal yet to submit a formal bid for Hincapie and Leverkusen desperate to hold on to the player.
Arteta wants to get this deal over the line before Monday’s deadline, which would take their spending to around £300m – a club record.
Kiwior agrees terms to push through Arsenal exit
Jakub Kiwior has agreed personal terms with Porto and Arsenal have agreed a deal for a loan with obligation to buy for around £22.5m.
The Pole is waiting for the green light to get on a flight to Portugal.
Arsenal won’t let him go until they agree a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Piero Hincapie. The Gunners have not submitted a bid yet as they look to nail down terms.
Arsenal not done in the transfer window yet
Despite the signings of Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal are still looking to add to their squad before the transfer window closes on Monday.
The Gunners have reportedly held talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a potential move for Piero Hincapie.
Hincapie latest
Arsenal could hand a debut to Piero Hincapie as early as this weekend when they face Liverpool.
The Standard Sport is reporting that Arsenal hold a long-term interest in Hincapie and are set to make a move for the Bayer Leverkusen defender with Jakub Kiwior closing in on an exit.
