ARNE SLOT and Mohamed Salah will hold crunch talks TODAY after the forward’s stunning claim that Liverpool want him out.

Salah, 33, was axed from the Reds travelling squad to face Inter Milan on Tuesday after he gave an interview following the Leeds draw saying he had been “thrown under the bus” and had a “broken” relationship with manager Slot.

With Salah due to join up with the Egypt national team ahead of the African Cup of Nations next week, there were questions over whether the forward had played his last game for Liverpool.

However, Slot has now revealed he WILL speak with Salah – who The Sun exclusively revealed had been out to dinner with Jordan Henderson – today about what has transpired over the last week.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s game against Brighton tomorrow, Slot said: “I will have a conversation with Mo this morning.

“The outcome of that conversation determines how [we move forwards].

“What I need is a conversation with him and the next time I speak about Mo should be with him and not in here.

“There’s not much more I can say. I speak to him today and the outcome determines how things will look tomorrow.

“You can try it in multiple ways, the next time I speak should be with him. We’ve spoken a lot in the last week, since the Sunderland game.

“There have been a lot of conversations between his representatives and ours, between him and me.”

The Dutchman also confirmed he has no desire to see the back of the legendary forward, who is the club’s third-highest ever goalscorer.

Slot was asked specifically whether he wanted Salah to stay at Anfield.

The 47-year-old replied: “I have no reason not to want Mo to stay.”

And Slot may need Salah to return to action this weekend due to injuries his squad is currently nursing.

Both Cody Gakpo and Wataru Endo have been ruled out for weeks by the manager.

Slot said he believes he saw “promising things” from Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, who played together as a front two in a new-look diamond midfield shape for the Reds in their 1-0 win over Inter.

Salah’s absence from the midweek squad was also addressed by Slot, who said it was a “club decision” for him not to travel.

He said: “If he’s in the squad, yes or no? We’ve decided as a club, I was part of that decision not to take Mo to Inter Milan.

“I’m always in conversation [with the Liverpool board], but when it comes to the decision making of the squad or the line-up that is always left to me.

“That’s not to say I don’t talk to Richard [Hughes]. I talk to Richard about many things. But to play a player is entirely up to me.”
