It’s Friday, folks, and that means it’s Ask The Maven Time. Today’s question comes all the way from the Adirondacks where Fred Blackmore asks: ‘IS IT TRUE THAT THE RANGERS ARE TRYING TO GET J.T. MILLER FROM THE CANUCKS?

The Maven Replies: Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury has made it clear that he wants better leadership – and toughness on his squad. He also indicated that he’s in the process of rebuilding the club’s core.

After the Rangers disastrous descent in the standings Drury is actively attempting to rebuild on the fly. Apparently the disappointing forward Mika Zibanejad was part of a possible deal but

the Canucks also wanted young defenseman Braden Schneider added to the package.

Drury does not want to part with Schneider which means that he might offer lighthorse Dman Zac Jones instead.

That does not seem to be what Vancouver wants but I believe that both sides are still talking and that J.T. Miller may become a Ranger again. Only time will tell!
