ANDRE ONANA has been left out of Man Utd’s squad ahead of their season opener against Arsenal.
The stopper is recovering from an injury and was considered a doubt ahead of the fixture at Old Trafford but it has been confirmed that he will not be featuring.
He is continuing his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury at Man Utd’s new Carrington training facility.
The news comes after SunSport revealed Man Utd were considering a shock swoop for former club icon David de Gea.
The Spaniard has a release clause in his deal at Italian club Fiorentina that could see him rejoin the club for a cut price.
He is just one of several options under consideration by Ruben Amorim as he looks to strengthen in net.
Paris Saint-Germain keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has also been linked with a move to the North-West.
He released an explosive statement last week saying he was being forced out of the club and thanking the fans for his time in the French capital.
Altay Bayindir gets the nod in goal for today’s clash, while veteran keeper Tom Heaton takes his place on the bench.
Further up the pitch, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha make their Premier League debuts for Utd while Benjamin Sesko is brought in as a substitute.
