With the NFL draft approaching, many expected that Aaron Rodgers would already have a decision made on where he’ll play in 2025-26.
However, the future Hall of Fame quarterback has yet to make a decision, and as a result, there are many questions about where he could land.
The Pittsburgh Steelers seem to be the most obvious landing spot, but given he hasn’t signed a deal with them yet, it’s only fair to question what’s happening behind the scenes.
Well, according to Colin Cowherd, in an episode of “On The Herd With Colin Cowherd,” he believes that Rodgers doesn’t want to play with the Steelers, but instead wants to be with the San Francisco 49ers.
“I told you, Aaron Rodgers doesn’t buy Pittsburgh, it’s fool’s gold,” Cowherd said. “Defensive coach, two needy receivers, bad o-line, lost Najee Harris. And here we are. Aaron Rodgers is just waiting it out. I think it’s the right move. I believe he wants to go to San Francisco if the [Brock] Purdy contract doesn’t work, or Minnesota. I think he’s right to want that. I don’t think he should sign with Pittsburgh.”

The 49ers have their own quarterback questions with Brock Purdy, mainly about his contract.
It’s uncertain when a deal will get done on that side, but if something doesn’t come to light over the next few months, there could be a scenario where Rodgers makes sense for San Francisco.
However, one would have to question why the 49ers would let go of a young quarterback to sign Rodgers, who will likely only play another year or two.
