An Open Letter To Turki: Cure Boxing’s Fear Of Losing

Dear Turki,

On behalf of boxing fans worldwide, thank you.

You have done what no one else could: make the impossible happen. Fights once buried in excuses, blocked by promoters, and crippled by politics are now a reality under Riyadh Season. Usyk–Fury, Beterbiev–Bivol, Crawford–Canelo — bouts that looked like fantasy are now history because of your vision. For that, boxing owes you gratitude.

But this letter is not only to thank you. It is to challenge you. Because you now hold in your hands something bigger than even the biggest fight: the chance to cure boxing of its deepest cancer — the fear of losing.

The Problem: Boxing’s Cancer

For too long, boxing has been ruled by fear.

The fear that one loss erases a career. The fear that losing a “0” means losing purses, sponsors, and status. Fighters protect records instead of taking risks. Promoters sell illusions instead of competition. Rankings are meaningless because the best rarely fight the best.

This fear has drained boxing of what made it great. Unlike the UFC, where a loss is part of the climb, in boxing, a single defeat can exile a fighter from the spotlight. And so we get cherry-picks, mandatories, endless waiting — everything but the fights fans deserve.

The Solution: Riyadh Undisputed Season Tournament

You have the power to end this. To build a system that rewards courage, not avoidance.

The model is simple:

  • Format: An 8-man tournament in each weight class (or 10 with play-in bouts). Quarterfinals → Semis → Final.
  • Eligibility: Fighters must be Top 10 ranked. If champions refuse, they are stripped.
  • Purses:
  • Quarterfinals: $3–5M guaranteed.
  • Semis: $7–10M guaranteed.
  • Final: a $50M jackpot, split 60% to the winner, 40% to the runner-up — on top of previous purses.
  • Outcome: The winner is crowned undisputed champion of the division. No politics. No excuses. Just Undisputed.

Call it the Riyadh Undisputed Season Tournament. A new standard, a new crown.

The Benefits

  • For Fighters: No more fear of losing. Even in defeat, they are rewarded. The sport values effort, not just perfection.
  • For Fans: Clarity. They no longer wonder who the best is — they see it unfold. Every fight matters. Every punch has stakes.
  • For Boxing: Restores credibility. Titles mean something again. Rankings mean something again. Champions are proven, not manufactured.
  • For Riyadh: Your name becomes inseparable from boxing’s rebirth. Just as Ali became the symbol of an era, you become the symbol of reform.

Your Legacy

Turki, you are already the most powerful figure in boxing today. But this is about something greater.

With this system, you will not just be remembered as the man who put on the biggest fights. You will be remembered as the man who fixed the sport. The man who replaced fear with competition, politics with structure, and corruption with clarity.

You can enter history as the super promoter who cured boxing’s cancer. You can be remembered as the man who went beyond the Muhammad Ali Act and created a system that truly protected fighters — not just from exploitation, but from irrelevance.

Dear Turki, the fights you’ve already given us are unforgettable. But the cure is within reach.

Give boxing the Riyadh Undisputed Season Tournament. One season. One champion. Undisputed.

Greatness isn’t just about moments. It’s about systems that last. And right now, you are the only man who can build it.

Sincerely,

Mohamed HOROMTALLAH
