The Detroit Lions have an early injury concern during the divisional round game versus the Washington Commanders on Saturday night, as cornerback Amik Robertson was banged-up after a play in the first quarter.
The injury happened in the opening quarter and on the very first play of the game for the Commanders’ offense. As of this writing, his exact injury remains unclear, but it appears he has an arm issue of some kind.
It goes without saying how important Robertson is. He is currently starting on the boundary in place of an injured Carlton Davis, who suffered a fractured jaw in Week 15. The Lions are even more shorthanded at the position thanks to the absence of rookie cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr.

According to Pride of Detroit, Robertson was spotted going to the locker room, with trainers holding his arm. That is obviously a bad sign for Robertson’s status for the rest of the contest.

Signed as a free agent during the 2024 offseason, Robertson served as the Lions’ slot cornerback all season long before Davis’ injury moved him to the outside. He was instrumental in keeping Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson in check during the winner-take-all Week 18 contest.
