“I’m Still the Top G”: Tyson Fury Uses Dubois’ Defeat to Promote Usyk Trilogy

Tyson Fury posted his reaction today to Daniel Dubois’ knockout loss to unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, using the opportunity to promote himself as still “the top G” of the division. Fury, 36, is using Dubois’ loss as a method to weasel a third fight with Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs).

Fury Claims Usyk Robbery

Looking like a middle-aged OG, Fury minimized newly crowned undisputed champion Usyk’s fifth-round knockout victory over IBF champion Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs), claiming that he’d twice beaten Oleksandr and been “ripped off.”

The comment about being robbed resonates with Fury’s loyal fanbase, who buy into the narrative of him being given a raw deal by the judges in his two fights with Usyk.

Fury’s fans believe he was unfairly treated and ignore how Usyk outworked, hurt, and was too athletically gifted for him.

“Dubois was on a great run with three knockouts in a row, including Joshua, Hrgovic, and Miller. And he [Dubois] goes in there and gets absolutely plastered, iced out by Usyk,” said Tyson Fury on social media, reflecting on Daniel Dubois’ loss to Oleksandr Usyk last Saturday night.

In this part of Fury’s rant, he speaks the truth of what happened last night. Dubois got annihilated by Usyk in the fifth round. Daniel got greedy, relentlessly attacking Oleksandr, and he got dropped by a counter right hand that he didn’t see coming. Usyk was like a shark after Dubois climbed off the canvas. He immediately after his injured prey, and dropped him with a huge left hook. Dubois looked like his mind was in outer space as he lay on the canvas, too hurt to beat the count. He looked in shock.

Fury’s Usyk Trilogy Push

“It just goes to show you…The only man who has been able to beat [Usyk] is me, and been ripped off,” Fury continued. “I’m still the top G. I beat him [Oleksandr] twice, and I’ll do it again. Wembley, here we come. Three times. Get up.”

As you can see, Fury is using Daniel’s loss to promote himself and to build interest for a third fight with Usyk at Wembley Stadium. Obviously, Tyson’s reason for wanting the trilogy match is the massive payday he would be getting for the fight. He doesn’t deserve a third fight, given that he’s 0-2 in his last two fights. It would be a transparent way for Fury to receive another $100 million payday from the Saudis.
