Referee Hector Afu stopped the contest at 2:07 of the tenth round.

In the first two rounds, Cafu spent the entire time against the ropes countering Rodriguez, who took both rounds. In the third and fourth rounds, Rodriguez continued to outland Cafu, though he had a mouse under his left eye.

In the fifth and sixth rounds, Rodriguez continued winning all the rounds while Cafu countered him with his back against the ropes. In the seventh round, Cafu landed punches to the body of Rodriguez, taking the round. In the ninth round, Rodriguez had his best round, hurting Cafu to the body.

In the tenth round’s final minute, Rodriguez rocked Cafu with a right, almost dropping him, when Rodriguez grabbed him and both went to the canvas—upon rising, the corner of Cafu called a halt. Hector Afu was the referee.

In the first round, it was all Williams. In the final minute, Vazquez landed a combination. In the second round, Vazquez was hit low a minute into the round by a left uppercut from Williams. In the final minute, Vazquez landed a right on the chin, getting the attention of Williams. Half a minute into the third round, Williams landed a low blow, causing referee Mark Calo-oy to take a point from him. Vazquez came back, making a fight of it.

In the fourth round, both had their moments in a close fight. In the fifth round, Williams landed a flurry of punches, having Vazquez in a corner halfway into the round.

In the sixth round, it went back and forth with Williams being warned about a low punch. He landed a flurry of punches in the final minute. Vazquez came back well. In the seventh, it went back and forth in a competitive fight.

In the ninth round, Williams landed three punches to the chin, dropping Vazquez for an 8-count from Referee Calo-oy. He beat the count and said he was done. It was his first ten and training for a 6-rounder when he took this fight. They sparred years ago and knew each other well. All the low blows he took, he was exhausted.
