Man Utd goalkeeper wanted by Championship side Millwall after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim

MILLWALL like the look of Manchester United’s out-of-favour keeper Radek Vitek.

The Czech, 21, is back from a loan at Austrian side BW Linz and seeking a club to get minutes in the new campaign.

Lions are keen on Vitek but he would have to fight for a start at The Den.

Boss Alex Neil is also eyeing alternatives such as experienced stopper Tim Krul, 37, to add competition in his Millwall squad.

Krul is a free agent after leaving Luton but plans to stay in the game despite a long career at Newcastle and Norwich.

The Dutchman is based near Norwich and keen to stay in the area so the move might work for him.

Millwall are also tracking stopper Joao Virginia, 25, after he left Everton.

Goalkeeping could become a major area of concern for Manchester United, who have suddenly found themselves having to make a decision following the injury to Andre Onana.

The Cameroon international returned from holiday, underwent his pre-season medical check, and began training. However, before he could even break a sweat, he picked up a hamstring injury.

Sunsport understand that he is likely to be out for at least eight weeks, meaning he will miss a significant chunk of pre-season.

This leaves United’s manager with another big decision to make, one that he didn’t expect to have to face after deciding to keep the former Ajax man as his number one for the upcoming season.

United finished a disappointing 15th in the league last season but they have decided that continuity will be key.

They are looking to strengthen other areas of the squad as they felt Onana, though occasionally culpable, was not an immediate problem compared to other parts of the team.

The club is looking to sign a striker to support Rasmus Hojlund, as well as strengthen the midfield.

They have already signed Brazilian Matheus Cunha from Wolves but are still on the market for another striker.

But now, with Onana’s injury, they will have to rethink their plans and possibly find a way to bring in another goalkeeper within the budget they are working with.
