Gyokeres update
Sporting president Frederico Varandas has given an update on the future of Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres.
He has insisted that the club will stand firm on the striker’s price tag and will happily let him rot at the club for the remainder of his contract.
He said: “If they don’t want to pay Viktor’s fair market value, we’re very comfortable with that for the next three years.
“This strategy is also making it more complicated for the player to leave. Nobody is above the interests of the club, whoever they are.
“We’re calm. Everything will be resolved with the market closing, a hefty fine and an apology to the group.”
What are Arsenal losing?
Should Trossard complete his exit from Arsenal this summer, he would leave a hole in Mikel Arteta’s side.
Last term, he contributed to 15 goals in 38 Premier League appearances.

Youngster’s new deal
Marcell Washington has signed his first professional contract with Arsenal.
The youngster is the son of former Chelsea star and Champions League winner Ryan Bertrand.
He said: “My ambitions are just to prove in every game you play and every training session you have. I think football is all about proving. I feel like just because I’ve signed this contract doesn’t necessarily mean that I’ve made it.
“I think I’ve got a lot to prove and I’m looking forward to doing that. Hopefully, obviously, the coaching staff can see that through my game.
“It’s a very welcoming club. From day one when I came here, I felt really welcomed. That goes from the staff to the players.
“I think it’s a really big club, obviously. The club are always striving to win trophies. I’m just looking to be an addition to that and see what I can offer the club.”
