Iga Swiatek lands exclusive prize after demolishing Amanda Anisimova in Wimbledon whitewash

IGA SWIATEK has landed an exclusive prize after winning Wimbledon for the first time.

The Pole immortalised herself in SW19 after demolishing Amanda Anisimova without dropping a game.

The 6-0 6-0 double-bagel result had not been seen at Wimbledon since 1911, while it was also the first time since the French Open final in 1988 it had occurred during a Grand Slam event.

And while Swiatek is busy celebrating her first grass major, taking her total tally to six, and the £3million prize pot, she has also gained access to a special prize for winners.

The 24-year-old’s victory means she has now gained lifetime membership to the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

After being handed the lucrative Venus Rosewater Dish, Swiatek was seen being presented with a special badge highlighting her status.

This special honour means she will be able to get two complimentary tickets to Centre Court action on each day of the tournament going forward.

Another lucrative prize handed to players who make it to the quarter-finals is The Last 8 Club.

The club allows players past and present to use the Wimbledon facilities at their leisure for the rest of their lives.

There is also traditionally a Last 8 Supper Party held for members.

Swiatek was already a member of this club after making the Wimbledon quarter-finals in 2023.

However, the likes of beaten quarter-finalists Ben Shelton and Mirra Andreeva are new members to that club this year.

Meanwhile, French Open champion Coco Gauff remains among the high-profile active players who are yet to get into the club.

Following her victory, Swiatek said: “It seems super surreal.

“I want to congratulate Amanda for an amazing two weeks. No matter what happened, you should be proud of the work you are doing.

“I hope we are going to play many more finals and in other tournaments. You have the game for that.

“For me, this was way too far to dream about. I feel like I’m already an experienced player after winning the Slams before. But I never expected this one. My team believed in me more than I did.

“I want to thank my coach who joined this year. We have had ups and downs but we showed everybody that it is working. This tournament is unique. And I was anxious of that.

“Walking around here, being on Centre Court felt like a huge pressure. This year I really enjoyed it and improved my game.

“I will always remember the opening of champagne bottles in-between serves – a sound that will keep me up at night. I will enjoy these moments.”

Meanwhile, emotional Anisimova broke down in tears and was consoled by Princess Kate Middleton on Centre Court.
