Brian Norman Jr. vs. Devin Haney: Altercation Fuels Knockout Promise

Brian Norman Jr. says he believes the reason for today’s altercation is that Devin Haney is beginning to show worry about their fight on November 22nd. Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) states that he’s more determined than ever to knock out Haney.

Haney-Norman Jr. Altercation Details

Brian was unhappy about Haney’s big bodyguard tearing his t-shirt when he grabbed him while he was talking. Devin had slapped Norman Jr’s hand away when he was pointing at him. That move caused Haney’s bodyguard to go off.

If this was an intentional move on Haney’s part to throw off Norman Jr., he’s miscalculated. If anything, he’s even more determined to knock him out. Getting destroyed by Norman Jr. would ruin Devin’s career because that would be the third straight poor performance by him. Turki Alalshikh might not want to use Haney again if Norman Jr destroys him.

“I don’t know why they came with this hostility. They might be a little bit nervous,” said Brian Norman Jr. to Ring Magazine’s YouTube channel, talking about what caused the altercation with Devin Haney today.

Before it started, Norman Jr. was acting friendly to Haney, showing him his southern hospitality with kind words. But then Bill Haney got mouthy, saying, “We gave you the opportunity.” It was Norman Jr. who gave Devin the chance to fight for his belt. If not for that, the options would be poor for him.

Haney isn’t about to risk his neck fighting Shakhram Giyasov or Karen Chukhadzhian and lose to one of them. That would really be the end of his career.

Brian Norman Jr.’s Knockout Vow

“Maybe they’re trying to put all the energy onto us. No, it’s still going to be the same thing. You’re still going to sleep,” said Norman Jr. about Haney. “This just set it in stone. It was already going to be a knockout.”

You could tell with the way Norman Jr. said that, he’s angry about the incident with Haney’s bodyguard. He now wants to take it out on him on November 22nd.

“The bodyguard came up, acting all funny. He ripped my white T-shirt. I had to flip the big dude after that,” said Brian Jr.
