Club World Cup chaos as PSG vs Real Madrid is DELAYED after last-minute announcement

THE Club World Cup semi-final between PSG and Real Madrid was DELAYED by ten minutes following a last-minute announcement.

Both team buses arrived at the 82,000-seat MetLife Stadium in New Jersey 20 minutes behind schedule due to heavy traffic.

Travelling from Manhattan to New Jersey, there was gridlock in the tunnels pushing kick-off time to 3.10pm locally (8.10pm UK).

The 73 mile trip can take up to two hours and 20 minutes – without any traffic.

Chelsea have already booked their place in Sunday’s final after beating Thiago Silva’s Fluminense 2-0.

The Blues have already banked around £80MILLION in America – but have yet to be truly tested out in the tournament.

That will change in the final – but Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has no preference on who his side play.

He said: “They are both top teams. One won the Champions League this season, the other one last season.

“They are top teams but we are proud and we are happy to be there.”

Chelsea finished fourth in their first season under Maresca – who left Leicester last summer to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

The Italian also celebrated winning the Europa Conference League and is now on the verge of more silverware.

Maresca said: “It is a great achievement.

“It has been a fantastic season; top four in the Premier League, Conference League and now in the final of this competition – we are so, so happy.

“We go game by game. Finally we have the last game of the season and hopefully we can win the tournament.”
