Joao Pedro apologises after scoring first two Chelsea goals but instantly wins over fans with Club World Cup screamer

JOAO PEDRO refused to celebrate his first two goals for Chelsea.

The striker made his first start for the Blues in the Club World Cup semi-final against Fluminense.

And it took him just 18 minutes to curl in a beauty from distance against his former club.

But Pedro held his hands up in apology and refused to celebrate despite it being his first goal for his new club.

The 23-year-old only signed for Chelsea nine days ago in a £55million deal.

He has hit the ground running and took his goal in expert fashion, controlling a clearance before touching the ball out of his feet and bending it into the far corner.

Pedro’s team-mates rushed to celebrate with him but the Brazilian raised his hands towards the Fluminense contingent behind the goal.

He added a second just before the hour mark, firing a thunderous shot in off the crossbar which sealed a 2-0 win.

Fans feel the quality of his first goal deserved a celebration, with some suggesting Pedro wanted to.
