Newcastle AGREE first major transfer of summer as they reach £60million deal to sign Anthony Elanga from Forest

NEWCASTLE have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest.

The winger is set to become Toon’s first major signing of the summer.

The two Premier League clubs have agreed a £60million fee.

And Elanga has agreed a deal to move to St. James’ Park and he is set to undergo a medical in the next 48 hours, report The Athletic.

The Sweden international will become Newcastle’s first major capture of the summer after the arrival of 18-year-old Antoñito Cordero.

Forest are now set to make a hefty profit on what will be a club record sale after signing Elanga from Manchester United for £15m in 2023.

Newcastle have finally got their man after seeing a £45m bid rejected by Forest.

The Magpies have been interested in Elanga since last summer.

The 23-year-old scored six goals and provided 11 assists in the Prem last season.

He made 83 appearances for Forest including 38 games in the top flight in the last campaign.

United are due to cash in thanks to a sell-on clause they inserted in the deal which sealed his move to Forest.

Reports claimed Elanga was one part of a £140m triple transfer move by Newcastle.
