Who will Emma Raducanu play next at Wimbledon if she beats Aryna Sabalenka?

EMMA RADUCANU is looking to return to the form that saw her famously win the US Open in 2021.

The Brit put in arguably her best performance since that day when she knocked former champion Marketa Vondrousova out in the second round.

But her prize for that victory is a test as tough as they come – against world no.1 Aryna Sabalenka on Centre Court.

However, with a host of seeds already out, the draw could really open up for Raducanu if she picks up a shock win.

Who will Emma Raducanu face if she beats Aryna Sabalenka?

Emma Raducanu will take on Belgium’s Elise Mertens if she is able to knock out Sabalenka.

The 24th seed had an impressive victory over the popular Elina Svitolina in the third round, to show she won’t be daunted on the big stage.

Mertens previously beat Hungary’s Anna Bondar in the first round and Belarussian Aliksandra Sasnovich in the second.

Who else could Emma Raducanu face at Wimbledon?

Raducanu is unlikely to get ahead of herself, but a second Grand Slam final would look more than just a pipe dream if she overcomes Sabalenka.

Should the no.1 seed go out, the highest ranked player left in the tournament will be seventh seed Mirra Andreeva.

However, the Russian teen prodigy is on the opposite side of the draw to Raducanu, along with the dangerous Iga Swiatek.

Four-time French Open champion Swiatek hammered Raducanu at both Roland Garros and the Australian Open earlier this year.

But the Pole is known to be a weaker opponent on grass and, in any case, would not meet Raducanu until the final.

If Raducanu gets past Sabalenka and Mertens, she will meet either Katie Boulter’s conqueror Solana Sierra or Germany’s Laura Siegemund.

In the semi-final, the highest ranked player Raducanu could face is Amanda Anisimova of the United States, who she beat at the Australian Open in January and then Miami in March.

30th seed Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic and Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who beat Naomi Osaka are also potential opponents.

And she could even end up with an all-British semi-final against surprise package Sonay Kartal.
