Tyson Fury is shouting about revenge and a trilogy at Wembley, but Team Usyk isn’t taking the bait just yet. While Fury blasted out an April 18, 2026 return date on Instagram, Oleksandr Usyk’s camp kept it simple: beat Daniel Dubois first, then maybe we’ll entertain your little London fantasy.
Sergey Lapin, who heads Usyk’s team and his promotional outfit “Ready to Fight,” made it clear in a statement to ESPN that their focus is locked on the July 19 Dubois fight. No distractions. No drama. No premature venue announcements.
Lapin Ices the Trilogy Talk (For Now): “We’re Focused on Making History”
“The idea of a third fight with Tyson Fury has been on the table between our teams ever since their second bout,” Lapin said. “And I have never had any doubt that, together with Goldstar Promotions, we could turn it into a reality.”
Translation: it’s not off the table… but it’s not the priority either.
He continued: “Right now, both Oleksandr Usyk and our team are fully focused on the upcoming fight with Dubois and on achieving the historic goal of becoming a three-time undisputed world champion. When this goal is accomplished, and the dust settles, we’ll be open for the next round.”
Why Isn’t Usyk’s Camp Playing Fury’s Game?
In other words: no, Tyson, you don’t get to set the schedule. Fury, naturally, wants a third fight on his terms—in England, where he claims he’ll get a “fair shout.” The man who lost both fights on points now wants a redo with homefield scoring. Classic.
But Usyk’s side isn’t chasing it. They’ve got Dubois at Wembley first, and that’s a fight with actual consequences. If Usyk wins again—and becomes a three-time undisputed champion—then we might see a trilogy. But if you think they’re rearranging their 2026 plans because of Fury’s Instagram post, think again.
