“Getting Cooked on X”: Turki Alalshikh’s Partisan Comments on Sheeraz vs. Berlanga and Shakur vs. Zepeda Go Viral

Turki Alalshikh is getting cooked on X tonight by fans after saying he’ll “be very upset ” if Hamzah Sheeraz and Shakur Stevenson lose their fights on his July 12th card in Queens, New York. Fans are roasting Turki, saying he should be neutral and non-biased for his event on DAZN PPV at the Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Turki’s “Disaster” Plan

Turki says if WBC lightweight champion Shakur and Sheeraz lose, it would “be a complete disaster.” He has “big plans” for those two fighters. He already said that Sheeraz (21-0-1, 17 KOs) is one of the two fighters that he’d be considering to fight Canelo Alvarez next February.

Fans are now worried that they’re going to see two controversial decisions favoring Shakur and Hamzah. Both are flawed and facing the best opponents of their careers.

Sheeraz is fighting the big puncher, Edgar Berlanga, in the main event of a super middleweight contest. Many fans are picking Berlanga to knock out Sheeraz. He’s already shown signs of being chinny when he fought Austin Williams last year. Sheeraz clearly deserved a loss in his last fight against WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames last February.

Shakur (23-0, 11 KOs) is defending against the unbeaten WBC interim champion William Zepeda. There’s considerable doubt that Stevenson can win without running all night, making it a “Tom and Jerry” type of fight that Turki said he didn’t want to see again at his events. Stevenson is too weak and fragile to stand and fight Zepeda the way Tevin Farmer did twice.

Zepeda, Berlanga for Sport

It would be good for the sport if Zepeda and Berlanga win because there’s more of a possibility of building them into stars in the U.S. Shakur and Hamzah will never be stars because they’ve got to many things going against them. Shakur is viewed as a boring runner with no power and hand problems. Sheeraz has a weak chin and looked overmatched in his only pro fight against a world-class opponent, Carlos Adames.

I will be very upset if Berlanga and Zepeda knock out Sheeraz and Shakur. We have big plans for Sheeraz and Shakur, and this result would be a complete disaster…!
