Bill Haney Sounds Off: Terence Crawford Will Beat Canelo Alvarez to a “Bloody Pulp” on September 13th

Bill Haney sounded like Terence Crawford’s personal hype man today, shouting that Bud is going to beat Canelo Alvarez to a “bloody pulp” on September 13th in Las Vegas.

Bill Haney’s Canelo Prediction

The way Bill was screaming and looking wild-eyed suggests that the wheels are spinning in his head, as he thinks about a fight between Bud and his son, Devin Haney. If Bill can get in Crawford’s good graces, he might throw a bone to Devin and give him a fight. After his last two performances against Jose Ramirez and Ryan Garcia, Haney is needy.

That would be a big payday for Devin if Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) looks in his direction after he fights Canelo for his undisputed super middleweight championship. There aren’t many well-paying fights for Haney at 147, other than Ryan Garcia and potentially Teofimo Lopez if he moves up in weight.

He already turned down the fight. If the old wolf Bill can hustle a fight with Terence for Devin, he’d get more than the $10 million he reportedly got for fighting Jose Ramirez at the Times Square card in New York last May.

Crawford, 37, is going to need all the help he can get to defeat Canelo. He’s moving up two divisions after a lackluster performance against Israil Madrimov at 154. Crawford looked old, weak, and no longer elite-level. He’s fortunate Turki Alalshikh took an interest in him because he’d have never gotten a fight against Canelo (63-2-2, 39 KOs) if he had to earn it the hard way.

Canelo-Crawford: Haney’s “Bloody Pulp”

“Listen, we’re tired of playing. Did you see it kicked off when I showed up? Because Crawford ain’t nothing to play with. He ain’t scared of nobody, and you ain’t too big for Crawford,” said Bill Haney to YSM Sports Media, talking about the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight.

“So, kill that narrative. It’s over with. Blood has been drawn, and you’re going to see. Crawford is the best fighter in the world. Listen, Canelo will be beat up like a bloody pulp,” said Bill.
