Teremoana Teremoana Makes A Heavyweight Statement

This past Saturday night, June 14th, on the Richardson Hitchins vs George Kambosos Jr undercard, the undefeated Australian heavyweight Teremoana Teremoana made a big statement as he knocked out Aleem Whitfield (9-1, 6 KOs) in the first round.

Coming into the bout, both heavyweights were looking to take advantage of the opportunity in regards to being able to showcase their skills on a DAZN telecast. In the end, Teremoana Teremoana gave the audience a small, but devastating sample size of his boxing ability.

A product of Brisbane, Australia, Teremoana Teremoana made his pro boxing debut back in December 2020 when he stopped Drew Jackson in the second round. Teremoana would go on to stop his next three opponents.

On November 30, 2024, an announcement was made in regards to Teremoana signing a promotional contract with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing. Approximately one month later, Teremoana defeated Volodymyr Katsuk by way of second-round TKO.

Teremoana would go on to score two consecutive first-round knockout victories. On the night of June 14th, Teremoana Teremoana would make his debut in the United States against an up-and-coming heavyweight who was also an undefeated fighter.

With 58 seconds left to go in the opening round, Teremoana Teremoana landed a hard chopping right hand that stunned Aleem Whitfield. Seconds later, Teremoana knocked Whitfield out when he connected with two hard left hooks, followed by another chopping overhand right.

The 6’6″ 265 lbs Aussie heavyweight Teremoana Teremoana is confident in his abilities, and he believes that he’s going to take over the heavyweight division by gradually climbing up the ladder.

Teremoana Teremoana is a skilled heavyweight who has the attributes of size, speed, and power. During the post-fight interview, promoter Eddie Hearn spoke about his belief in his fighter’s chances of being a force in the heavyweight division.

“This guy is a future world heavyweight champion, as you see, full of energy, full of personality, exactly what the sport needs. As I said to you before we got into the ring, it’s the fundamentals that he has, the attributes that he has.”

Hearn went on to say, “he has speed, he has IQ, and he has terrific punching power as well. So, remember the name, so nice they named him twice, Teremoana Teremoana will be the big star.”
