Bengals predicted to end Shemar Stewart nightmare by trading young pass rusher to NFC squad

Bengals predicted to end Shemar Stewart nightmare by trading young pass rusher to NFC squad

The Cincinnati Bengals have completely lost the trust of their 2025 first-round pick Shemar Stewart.

Stewart and the Bengals have yet to agree on a rookie contract due to Cincinnati’s efforts to include language that would allow them to void future guarantees in the deal.

Stewart has already stated that he won’t practice or play unless this clause is removed from his contract. However, Cincinnati hasn’t budged either, which could lead to the team moving on from their Round 1 draft choice in April.

If Stewart gets traded, Bleacher Report’s Mitchell Milani stated in a recent video that he believes the Chicago Bears are a top landing spot for the disgruntled Bengals pass rusher.

Milani’s proposed trade package has Chicago sending a 2026 second and third-round pick to Cincinnati for Stewart.

The Bears could use some additional pass-rushing help alongside Montez Sweat and Dayo Odeyingbo.

Trading for Stewart to serve as a high-end rotational pass-rusher on the defense would be a savvy move from general manager Ryan Poles. Stewart could also be a future starter on Dennis Allen’s defense.

Stewart could be the missing piece that elevates Chicago’s defense into a top unit. He would be a nice fit in the Windy City if things can’t get figured out in Cincinnati.
