Boxing Results: Zaquin Moses Stops Carl Rogers In The 4th Round 

Seven months into his professional boxing career, super-featherweight rookie Zaquin Moses made his fourth ring appearance, and once again, Moses had a successful outing as he stopped Carl Rogers (3-3) in the fourth round.

The Moses vs Rogers bout took place at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, as part of the Hitchins vs Kambosos undercard. Boxing is a sport that’s based on levels, and on Saturday night, Moses proved to be levels above his opponent.

In the opening round of the contest, Carl Rogers struck first as he landed a solid right to the body. The southpaw Zaquin Moses proceeded to go to work with precision as he consistently connected with the jab, the straight left, and the check right hook.

Rogers started the second round by landing an overhand right. Moses looked very relaxed in the second round as he worked off the jab and landed some solid body shots.

Moses kept it on cruise control in round 3 as he walked Rogers down and continued to hit him with a variation of punches. At this point in the fight, Moses started making the boxing match look like a glorified sparring session.

The 20-year-old Moses continued to hit Rogers with a sharp jab early in the fourth round. After landing the jab throughout the first minute of the fourth, Moses proceeded to focus on attacking the body.

Seconds later, Moses transitioned to throwing combinations, as he dropped Rogers when he landed a right hook to the temple. Rogers got up, but when the match continued, Moses landed a flurry of shots which forced the referee to step in and put a halt to the contest.

With the victory, the Newark, New Jersey native Zaquin Moses (4-0, 3 KOs) showcased his patience, speed, power, accuracy, and great punch placement. During his post-fight interview, Zaquin Moses spoke about his mindset coming into his fight with Rogers.

“Do what I do and have fun. I knew this kid wasn’t on my level when they first sent him to me, but to do what I do and have fun, and like I said in the press conference, I work hard and I’m showing it right here,” Moses stated.

Zaquin Moses is the cousin of the WBC lightweight world champion Shakur Stevenson. In his four-ring appearance, Moses has shown an abundance of talent and potential. For his next fight, Moses expressed interest in having a match in the United Kingdom (UK).
