Bill Haney’s NYC Scavenger Hunt: Is Teofimo Lopez Hiding Under a Rock?

A wild-eyed Bill Haney was seen today, roaming around the streets of New York, looking for Teofimo Lopez to confront him for backing out of negotiations to fight his son, Devin Haney.

Bill Haney’s Hunt

Bill looked & sounded desperate with his search for Teo. Bill is acting thirsty for that Teofimo fight. That payday would have been nice, but he and Devin need to move on.

That was a fight that Devin (32-0, 15 KOs) needed to get a big payday, and regenerate his sinking career after back-to-back poor performances. Lopez said he was concerned with not being given a fair shake if he were to fight Devin. So, he gave up on the idea of fighting him.

Losing out on what would have been a big payday for a fight against Teofimo leaves Haney in bad shape, because there aren’t any money fights for him. Teo was his last hope.

This week, Bill and Devin received the bad news from Turki Alalshikh’s post on X, who has a new policy for his Riyadh Season events of not wanting “Tom and Jerry-type boxing matches” involving running. That message affects movers like Haney. If Turki chooses to shun Devin from his events, he will be ruined. He won’t get the same kind of money elsewhere, and he’ll find life hard, dealing with the killers at 147, like Shakhram Giyasov.

“I’m coming to Brooklyn, and I’m looking for Teo and the Senior. I’m going to see what you scared of,” said Bill Haney to Fight Hub TV, hunting down Teofimo Lopez to try and confront him for his decision not to fight his son, Devin Haney. “I’m looking for Teo and senior, and whoever condones this s*** they’re doing.”

Bill Haney’s Vulture Strategy

The welterweight division is emptied out with Jaron Ennis rumored to be moving up to 154. So, it’s safe for Devin now at 147. He doesn’t have to worry about Boots and can go after the titles. Bill will need to be a vulture to scout out prey that won’t finish what Ryan Garcia started.

“Well, you see it ain’t starting out good. You said you were from Brooklyn. So, I want to see what makes a man who represents Brooklyn say he ain’t with it. I’m walking up to Gleasons [gym] right now to get to the bottom of this s***.”
