Top 20 most-followed clubs on Earth revealed as Man Utd DOUBLE Arsenal and Cristiano Ronaldo effect continues

MANCHESTER UNITED are by far the most followed Premier League team on social media.

But the Red Devils continue to languish miles behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.

United have 233.6 million total followers across X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.

This stands at more than double Arsenal’s tally of 114.1m.

The CIES Football Observatory have crunched the numbers to work out the overall standings.

Like in 2024, Real Madrid are top of the pile – with their overall online following haven risen to 473.7m.

Next up are Barcelona, who despite winning back the LaLiga title are well behind Real with 427.4m.

While Barca are behind Real Madrid on X, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, the Catalan giants do have more YouTube subscribers than their rivals.

In third are Man Utd with 233.6m followers, who despite their recent woes remain incredibly well backed worldwide.

And next up are champions of Europe Paris Saint-Germain, who have 199.4m total followers.

The French giants perform particularly well on Instagram, on which they are joint third alongside United.

Manchester City are the second Premier League side to come up, with 179.5m followers across platforms.

Juventus are sixth on 174.9m – performing better than City on X, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube – but well behind on Facebook.

Prem duo Liverpool and Chelsea are next in seventh and eighth – on 166.7m and 152.9m respectively.

Ninth are Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich on 149.1m, with Facebook by far the Germans’ strongest platform, making up 62.7m of their followers.

Arsenal round off the top 10 on 114.1m, just ahead of their North London rivals Tottenham on 108.1m.

Spurs are actually the most followed Premier League side on TikTok.

The Lilywhites have 40.6m followers on the platform and curate more original TikTok content than their peers – only placing behind Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG worldwide.

Atletico Madrid are 12th on 80.2m followers, although at 23.1 per cent have seen the most growth across the top 20.

Next up are Serie A duo AC Milan and Inter on 78.3m and 70.2m respectively.

In 15th are our first non-European team – Brazilians Flamengo the best of the rest on 66.4m.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi side Al-Nassr have 62m followers – with the Portuguese’s presence having contributed to a nine per cent growth from last year.

Borussia Dortmund sit 17th on 60.2m.

Then come the biggest African side, Al-Ahly of Egypt, who possess 57.7m followers – including more on X than the likes of Juventus, Bayern Munich, Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and both Milan clubs.

With 53.7m total followers are Galatasaray in 19th, while rounding off the list in 20th are Roma, who have 41.8m.

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami have not made the top 20 – with the MLS side down in 23rd on 38.4m – sitting between Fenerbahce and Al-Hilal.
