Stanley Cup Final Picks: Best Bets for Game 3 on Monday

Stanley Cup Final Picks: Best Bets for Game 3 on Monday

The Stanley Cup Final has already delivered two of the best games of the season. Florida let another lead slip away in regulation in Game 2. A second overtime was needed to settle the issue. Brad Marchand won the game in double overtime and tied the series. Below, we look at some Stanley Cup Final picks for Game 3 in Florida.

Consider signing up on BetMGM or FanDuel for NHL betting this week. You can make the following selections using bonuses.

Oilers-Panthers Shift To Florida forGame 3

Going to the beach typically never hurts. And it must be welcome for both teams to get that extra day of rest. The next three games are played at Amerant Bank Arena with two days of rest between Game 3 and Game 4.

Injuries and news will now play a larger role in betting scenarios. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is expected to go on Monday night, but it will be a game-time decision. Finding out the nature of the injury may be the real challenge. Anyway, Edmonton has changed its defensive pairings. Here is what they look like.

  • Nurse-Bouchard
  • Ekholm-Klingberg
  • Walman-Kulak

Edmonton was expected to make some adjustments. It will be interesting to see how Florida counters. However, the Panthers may focus on that top pairing, especially if they get the most minutes as projected. This makes one wonder how healthy Mattias Ekholm truly is. With ample rest built into this Stanley Cup Final, Florida can match these pairings even better now.

Last line change and the home ice advantage have pushed the Florida moneyline to around -140. Edmonton, conversely, is now a +120 underdog to win in Game 3. There is a trepidation to say no overtime is likely. After all, some forget that Toronto and Ottawa played three consecutive overtime games back in Round 1.

Okay, with many believing we may see overtime again, why not look to a 60-minute result instead? It is risky, given how close the games have been. Do we see some separation like last year’s Stanley Cup Final at some point?

The belief is that Edmonton wins at least one game in Florida, but it may not be tonight.

Florida-Edmonton Series Swingers

Digging into the numbers can be fun here.

  • Edmonton was a -130 favorite to win Game 1 and a -120 favorite to win the series.
  • Florida was around +100, depending on the sportsbook.
  • Game 2 featured Edmonton at -210 to win the series, with Florida a +180 underdog.
  • One series split shifted the favorite to Florida (as high as -120), while Edmonton is now Even on some sportsbooks.

Florida and Edmonton are banged up, and as this series goes along, who knows what else may happen. Time helps in many ways, but it aids the bettor in gaining additional information. Little things can be found that will help so much later.

These teams help open up some solid series market betting options. It is more than just series games, spread, etc. Now, one can guess the number of goals from both teams or just one. There are the number of shutouts. Do not laugh. Game 1 did happen last year.

Edmonton was moved up to a total of 22.5 goals to entice more betting. That over now stands at +110. Meanwhile, Florida remains stuck at 21.5 with -115 going either way. Biting here with Edmonton (eight goals currently) and expecting one or two more crooked totals is our pick.

Final Take for Game 3 – McDavid Sets Another Record

FanDuel is offering Connor McDavid at +205 to score 14+ points in the Cup Final and break another Wayne Gretzky record. He has five through two games. A long series makes this almost likely.
