Election season rolls on, and both candidates are hot on the campaign trail as early voting gets underway in some states. Former president Donald Trump has been campaigning in Pennsylvania, an important swing state for both candidates.
Trump will be running as the Republican nominee. The schedules have aligned, and he will be able to attend Week 7’s ‘Sunday Night Football’ game between the New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Trump has long been a sports fan, and it isn’t uncommon for him to take in sports along his campaign trail. He attended a game between Georgia and Alabama this fall.

Trump is known to be a big sports fan. Even before becoming president in 2016, he has a long history of attending NFL games as well as UFC and boxing fights.
For this game in particular, it is a swing state that he is trying to win in the election. It is also expected to be a pretty good game with the debut of the Adams-Rodgers reunion and Russell Wilson making his first start as the Steelers starting quarterback.
Who is in the box with Donald Trump?
We don’t know who all will be joining the presidential candidate. During this most recent trip to western PA, Trump had former Steelers Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell campaigning for him so both could be in there. Trump has befriended Elon Musk who attended a Steelers game a few weeks ago. Musk could be back in attendance on Sunday night.
Donald Trump attending sports events timeline
Trump has an established history of attending all sorts of sporting events. He’s been at everything from NFL games to boxing pay-per-view main events to even involved in a storyline with the WWE.
Trump was live and in person for Super Bowl XXVI when the Buffalo Bills took on the then-Washington Redskins. Although he never did it as President, he did throw out the first pitch at a New York Yankees game in 2004.
That WWE storyline? It was labeled the “Battle of the Billionaires” and came to a head in 2007 at WrestleMania. When the dust settled, Trump got into the ring and ended up shaving Vince McMahon’s head.
Trump has long been a fan of boxing and MMA. He attended the highly touted Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather fight back in 2015.
After being elected president, Trump habitually attended high-profile college football games. Of course, he attended the 2016 Army-Navy game and then the 2018 CFP National Championship featuring Georgia vs. Alabama. Trump has seen Alabama play twice since then: once against LSU in 2019 and then this year’s game against Georgia.
Trump attended Game 5 of the 2019 World Series, but when he was shown on the jumbotron, the fans in Washington memorably booed him.
